LA K-Pop Festival
On April 12th, 2014, KBS and KBS America partnered with Korean American Federation of Los Angeles to host the LA K-Pop Festival at the historical Memorial Coliseum in downtown Los Angeles, California. This special concert featured traditional Korean music artists and K-Pop’s representative idols including SHINee, SISTAR, CNBLUE, Dynamic Duo, 2PM, Lena Park, INFINITE, Girl’s Day, Sul Woon Do, Kim Tae Woo, Song So Hee, Baek Ji Young, and Song Hae. An enthusiastic crowd of over 50,000 sang along to the popular songs and shouted the names of their favorite Korean idols as the stars appeared on the stage. The festival honored the growth of the Korean-American community from 101 people in 1903 to approximately 3 million people today. 2014 marks the 111th anniversary of the first Korean immigration in the United States.
